About
Craig Campbell is a knowledgeable, compassionate and effective trial attorney who has been working in the field of criminal defense for approximately 15 years.
Craig's first exposure to criminal defense was during his time at Elon University in Elon, NC. This experience included time as a campaign volunteer on the successful campaign for the Hon. Judge Michael O'Foghludha for the Superior Court of Durham County, NC; as a law clerk for the Alamance County District Attorney's Office in Graham, NC; and as a law clerk for the Cook County State's Attorney's Office here in Chicago. During his time in Cook and Alamance County, Craig worked with the Domestic Violence Unit of each respective office. It was here where Craig developed his initial passion for being an advocate to those affected by domestic violence.
Craig went on to attend the University of Illinois - Chicago John Marshall Law School. During his time as a law student Craig worked as a law clerk for the Hon. Judge Allen S. Goldberg (Ret.) in the Cook County Law Division and as a law clerk for Hanson Law Group in Barrington, IL.
Following law school, Craig entered private practice serving as an Associate Attorney with the Law Offices of Gillespie & Gillespie for nine years. During his time with Gillespie & Gillespie, Craig successfully litigated both state and federal criminal cases while learning under some of Chicago's most experienced and accomplished criminal defense attorneys. Craig handled a complex and challenging case load involving matters that garnered both local and national attention.
Craig's litigation experience involves both bench and jury trials, motion practice, and hearings at the state and federal level. Craig's approach focuses on keeping his clients informed and prepared every step of the way. Craig is additionally a capable negotiator when it comes to landing the best deals for his clients.
Craig has previously volunteered with the Chicago Bar Foundation, Children's Hospital, Habitat for Humanity, and Caritas Internationalis. While not in the courtroom, Craig appreciates spending time with friends and family and seeing live music in all the great venues Chicago has to offer.
