Brittany Howard
About
Brittany Howard is a compassionate, thorough, and effective litigator who has practiced almost exclusively in criminal defense. Her most relevant experience comes from her tenure at the Cook County Public Defender’s Office. While there, she represented hundreds of clients in misdemeanor, traffic, and DUI cases. She has successfully litigated and obtained not guilty verdicts in dozens of bench and jury trials. Brittany has also been successful in motion practice, which has often resulted in case dismissals. She is also knowledgeable in negotiating with prosecutors for favorable outcomes for her clients.
Prior to her time as a public defender, Brittany had her own law firm where she represented clients in felony, misdemeanor, and traffic matters in criminal courts across the Chicagoland area. She also previously worked at Cabrini Green Legal Aid where she represented incarcerated clients at parole revocation hearings before the Prisoner Review Board. Additionally, Brittany also worked at a small firm that handled civil rights, personal injury, and criminal defense cases.
Brittany attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and received her law degree from Loyola University Chicago School of Law. She has previously volunteered with Cabrini Green Legal Aid, CARPLS, and GRIP Outreach for Youth. In her spare time, Brittany enjoys spending time with her family and friends, trying new restaurants with her husband, and yelling at the Bears every Sunday. She also has a passion for traveling, having visited several countries such as South Africa, Cambodia, and Cuba.
